CBC Teacher Training Workshop Successfully Concluded

CBC Training

Our teaching staff completed an intensive three-day CBC training workshop facilitated by KICD-trained experts. The workshop focused on practical implementation of competency-based assessment methods and learner-centered teaching strategies.

Teachers engaged in hands-on activities, developed sample lesson plans, and practiced new assessment techniques. The training emphasized differentiation to meet diverse learner needs within CBC framework.

Annual Sports Day 2024: Green House Emerges Champions

Sports Day

Green House claimed victory in our highly competitive inter-house sports competitions held last Friday. The day featured track and field events, team sports, and novelty games that showcased student talent and sportsmanship.

Notable performances included Sarah Omondi breaking the school record in 100m sprint (12.5 seconds) and the Blue House relay team setting a new record in 4x100m relay. Individual awards were presented in 15 different categories.

The event, attended by parents and alumni, demonstrated our commitment to holistic education. Sports Prefect James Kariuki remarked, "The teamwork and determination displayed today reflect our school values."

Alumni Career Day Connects Students with Successful Graduates

Alumni Day

Twenty-five successful alumni returned to campus for our annual Career Day, offering current students insights into various professions and career paths. The event featured panel discussions, one-on-one mentoring sessions, and industry-specific workshops.

Alumni represented diverse fields including medicine, engineering, law, business, technology, and arts. Dr. Michael Njoroge (Class of 2015), now a medical researcher, shared his journey: "Pinnacle gave me the foundation for critical thinking that's essential in my work."

Form 3 students particularly benefited from guidance on subject selection for Senior School pathways. The event strengthened our alumni network while providing valuable career exposure.

Term 2 Parents' Consultation Day Schedule

The second Parents' Consultation Day for Term 2 will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is an important opportunity for parents to meet with teachers and discuss their child's academic progress and CBC transition.

Appointments can be scheduled through the class teachers starting May 10. Both day and boarding parents are encouraged to attend. Special sessions on understanding CBC assessment reports will be conducted at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM in the auditorium.

Please confirm your attendance with the class teacher by May 17 to help us with planning. Virtual consultation options are available for parents who cannot attend in person.

Students Excel in National Science & Engineering Fair

Three Pinnacle High School students won awards at the National Science and Engineering Fair held in Nairobi last week. Their projects demonstrated innovation and practical application of STEM concepts.

Susan Wanjiru (Form 3) won first prize in Environmental Science for her water purification system using local materials. David Kimani (Form 2) received second prize in Engineering for his low-cost automated irrigation system. Mary Atieno (Form 4) earned an honorable mention in Computer Science for her educational app for CBC learners.

Science Department Head Mrs. Grace Wambui expressed pride: "These achievements reflect our commitment to practical, inquiry-based learning aligned with CBC competencies."
